Eye and ear infected?

I can't believe the problems this summer! I feel terrible about this. After dusting my hens with permethian powder several days ago I noticed today one had a puffy eye. I am afraid some dust may have gotten in there. She also has pus crusted in her ear. W
hat should I do?

I have vetropolycin ointment. Does anybody know if this is safe to use?

So I put the ointment on twice yesterday. This am put it on again and she is keeping the eye open with but still some swelling. I noticed today she is opening any closing her mouth. Any comments on what is going on. She is otherwise acting normal.
Anybody?
