Eye Bulge & discharge Sick Turkey? Help!

Can someone tell what is wrong with my young turkey hen’s eyes??

she has developed this “bulge” on both eyes, but now this one is weepy.

what is it and what can I do??

note: she is dusty from her dirt bath

I’m in Central TX. It’s the only poult that has shown symptoms. I have 5 other poults and 15 hens.
Should I separate her? Is there anything I can do? She seems to not be able to see out of the eye that is weeping…

If it's fowl pox it just needs to run it's course. If I were you I would get a baseline weight on her, then weigh her every few days to make sure she's not losing weight.

So fowl pox is still wreaking havoc on my poor girl. I’m hoping it’s a case of “it will get worse before it gets better”…. The eye that is worse and was weeping, is now swollen. Is this part of it? She seems to be eating and drinking fine… just gets lost from her group occasionally so I go in and help her out.

the others have shown signs of pox, but non as severe. I’ve also included a picture of the inside of her mouth. Is the way it looks consistent with fowl pox? I read they can develop thrush.

In bad cases of fowl pox, they can get secondary infections that can benefit from treatment with antibiotics.

Wow, 2021 and you got no help? It’s 2024 now and I was searching for help with an injured turkey whose eye is bulging. This is not what my turkey has but I thought to answer you anyway even though it’s been years. That to me looks and sounds like Coryza. I do hope your girl was able to get over it and is a nice older hen by now.
