Eye discharge...What is wrong with this duck? Please HELP!

The last couple days have been extremely warm compared to before...Today is suppose to be 38 degrees with sunshine.

Could the ducks go for a swim in weather like this? It was raining yesterday and I'm pretty sure they spent the night outside and loved it. Thoughts?
Mine get into their pool when it's 35 outside and seem to love it. And I agree with Amiga ducks need to be able to wash their faces or they can get eye infections, I bought 3 heated buckets at TSC and I'm on my 4th winter with them, so the investment was worth it. Some Veterycin spray or saline wash would help much.

Got it. It was a pain to wash Einstein's with the saline and warm water, but she looks a lot better. I worry for the rest of my Mother's ducks though...I mean she "cares" but thinks of them as just ducks...ya know? Not all, but probably 7 or 8 of her ducks have the dried goop below their eyes. I don't know what to do, I could go through and clean ALL of them, which I would be doing by myself, and they are all but terrified of humans....argh.

I have a three fawn and white Indian Runner ducks. I hatched them by incubator last spring and they have done very well. I noticed that there was discharge from both of the males eyes but none from the females. It started around the beginning of winter and I haven't seen it clearing up at all.

Giving them a bucket of water, even a gallon of warm water with Apple Cider Vinegar can do wonders, 1gal to 2 Tab of ACV. Could you do that for moms ducks if she has more than 4 I'd use 2 Buckets since ducks splash out so much water. This is for MightyDucksVT

same goes for yours Ella, Ducks need to be able to wash their faces as often as they want, it keeps their eyes clean and their nares cleaned out.

Glad to hear Einsteins eyes look better after using the saline wash.

I am worried about putting buckets of water in there not because I think they, and the ACV are bad ideas, but because we had a freak accident that actually happend twice....we had a 5 gallon? bucket under a heat lamp and a duck jumped in overnight and couldn't get out...both times we found them dead and frozen in the morning. We don't know if they died from hypothermia or from being directly under the lamp. I am just scared that it will happen again....

Okay, I can swing putting them back like that. Having them covered would make me feel much better. Thanks for the pictures!
I hope it works. I have found some of my ducks in their buckets before thank goodness they were okay, but one of our members found her Runner duck drowned in her bucket last year so yes it can be dangerous, most of us who use buckets do this to protect them and it also helps to keep the water level up since it limits them splashing so much out. Let us know how it goes.

How how lil Einstein is doing

Thank you everyone that helped!!! Einstein is doing great. After I cleaned her eyes up a bit I also got and used some Vetericyn spray around then to be safe. I still felt she hadn't put on enough weight so I added some Poultry Nutri Drench vitamins to her water and gave her a little cracked corn with her normal food to fatten her up (not TOO much). I still keep her separate from the flock because she is so much happier having her own (warm) space. Now she looks beautiful and has started laying eggs. Not only is she healthy, but she has even bonded closer to me then before.

However.....there is another sick duck to attend to. I need to start an new thread for him. He is in much worse condition and I am not sure he will make the night. Please look for the new thread for the details. Thank you all so much. <3
