Eye infection? fungus????

I have a young barred rock hen that has an eye issue. At first I thought it might be an injury but not so sure now. It goes down and swells up, but the last couple of days it has stayed the same until today. I also noticed that yesterday she couldn't stand very well. Can someone offer advice on helping to make her comfortable and better? Her other eye is perfectly healthy and non of the other chickens have anything like this. She is healthy other than the eye issue.

This looks like *bubbly eye* IMO. If that is the case she should be culled. Remove all the other chickens and clean clean clean that coop. As soon as you think it is clean...clean it again. It is highly contagious and stays forever without a host.

Can it be bubbly eye if it's never bubbled? Just swollen and it looks like a whitish/yellowish mass has formed under the eyelid.

no smell. and none of the other chickens seem to have anything like that.

Is there sneezing or any other symptoms? I am by no means an expert. I have just seen a few posts with pics like yours (looking for them now) and everyone says eye problems are not good signs. I hope someone else can come along and give some help but in the mean time do some searches on IB, bubbly eye, Cholera or just simply eye problems. Maybe it is just a simple vitamin a deficiency but I am afraid it might be more respitory. Good Luck and if I find anything else I will post it for you.

I would separate her just to be on the safe side. It is probably contagious. I was thinking that it could be Coryza, but since you said it doesn't smell, I don't know.

I have separated her. She was drinking when I would hand feed her but now she's not even doing that. I can't stand to see her suffer. If I can't figure it out soon...I don't know what I'll do.
As far as other problems, none....although I did just notice a bit of a runny nose a few minutes ago. Poor girl. She was doing fine trying to recover from it until yesterday.

Glancing through them, looks like both beta carotene (vitamin A) and an antibiotic ophthalmic ointment would be worth trying, assuming vet care is not an option. But do look through them; you may have a different idea after reading and looking at pics.
