I just bought this hen and when I got home I noticed she had a watery bubbly eye and it's swollen.. I dabbed it with a paper towel and I had some vetropolycin on hand so I put some of that on her.. this is the 2nd night I've had her so I've applied to vetropolycin twice... any ideas at all on what it could be or what else I can do to get her better? Thanks!

O boy...Looks like you bought a sick bird.
Are you familiar with chicken illnesses and diseases?
Can you return her?
You could try antibiotics.

oh boy, i have a hen with the same symptoms and i thought it was a genetic thing cause when she was a chick her eyes were smaller than they should have been and all the other speckled sussex from the place we got her had the same thing. with my hen it hasn't spread to other birds though. i thought it was coryza? antibiotics help for a while but then it comes back :(

Sometimes antibiotics will help with symptoms.
Some things never go away and the birds remain carriers for life.
BIOSECURITY is a must to prevent bringing in disease to a flock because once you get it...it's not good.
