Eye infection

1) Silkie chicken , age -10 yrs old and healthy weight
2) behavior - stays in corner nesting box in the coop.
3) 3 days
4) We have a younger silkie who had the same problem but is better now.
5) No signs of trauma
6) Unknown cause
7) She eats and drinks if I help her.
8) Normal poop.
9) treatment so far - Replens sterile eye drops
10 ) Trying to help her myself. No vet close to me treats chickens (East Quogue, NY)
11) Photo posted.
12) housing/bedding is wood chips in a 5' x 5' coop with perches and nesting boxes.

Any help at all would be extremely appreciated!!!

Eye crust and drainage can be from a peck or something getting into the eye, but also can be a sign of a respiratory disease, such as MG. I would clean the eye with warm water to remove the crust, and apply a dab of Terrramycin eye ointment into the eye twice a day. If you cannot get that from your feed store or online, use plain Neosporin or Triple Antibiotic Ointment twice day. Vetericyn eye wash or eye gel may be helpful as well. If you see sneezing or continued lethargy and separation, you might be better off treating her with Tylosin in her water. Dosage is 1 tsp per gallon of water for 3-5 days. You can get that here:

Thanks so much Eggcessive!!! Terrramycin did the trick. She's made a complete recovery!
