eye infection

If she actually does go blind in that eye, it`s no big deal. She will learn to compensate. I have a 4 year old cock that lost an eye early in life when he sassed an old cock. He`s healthy and makes great babies.......Pop

Just want to thank everyone who replied. I used eyewash on her. Always have some on hand because my husband is a construction worker and needs it often. Happy to report that one application cleared her right up and she back to sassy.
Thanks again.

Thank goodness it was so simple, seems so many are having some serious issues right now. Would you tell me what name is the eye wash I looked at one store we have here and couldn't find anything about eye wash.

Its called Collerium. Sure about the name but not the spelling . I left it in the chickens' "medicine cabinet" in the barn, or I would just look. Its just regular boric acid eye wash you can buy in the first aid dept. of most stores. We used to buy boric acid powder and make our own, but I haven't seen that in a while. Works great on people too!

my one chick came in a box and it looked like her eye infection was bad.. i read on here to use tea bags.. we brewed a cup of tea and put the warm bag on her eye and dribbled some of the tea water into her eye.. it worked like a charm. took about 3 days to clear up.. so if you have no antibiotics i would try this till you can get some
