Yesterday I noticed my gooses eye didn't look right so I took a closer look. I don't know if she got something in it, if it's an infection or what. I was wondering if anyone here knows how to treat her eye. I used cool water and a rag which helped it a little but it still looks bad. I don't know what happened. Maybe you might have an idea what I can do for her.

Hi crj, I haven't had to deeal with anything like this with my goose but right off the top I think I'd wash her eye out real good with some salt[saline] water then get some terrimycim eye ointment from feed store and see if that helps. Do you use Oxine ah? I put it into my flocks water that they drink and wash their faces in it is awesome stuff. Or if you use ACV in their buckets of water you may increase the dose from 1 tab. to 3-4 tab to a gallon of water. This way she is cleaning and medicating her eye every time she sticks her head in the bucket. Hope this helps.

Thanks Lydia. I didn't think of putting ACV in the water for her eye. Good thinking. All my buckets are nice and clean. My friend has some eye stuff I can use so I will stop by and get that. I have to go to the feed store so I will look to see if they have anything. I wish I knew how this happened. I don't know if a chicken may have pecked at her which is possible too.

Ohhh, but I do have ducks!!! Young geese too!!! Oh my, they both make such a mess. Actually I have been lucky because the rain we had last week filled an area full of water for all the water fowl to enjoy which kept the pools a little cleaner. Good news about Daffy. A friend gave me some eye drops and she is all cleared up. I think a broody chicken may have poked her in the eye. It's possible but I don't know for sure, it could have been anything. She is doing much better now. Thank goodness :) Thanks for the help.
