Eye looks weird 13 day old chick

I'm not really sure how to describe it and the photo is horrible. The little bugger wouldn't hold still.
It appears his lid looks sealed shut, it's not red or inflamed. It just looks like a dry layer and currently cannot see out of it. Looked fine last night and i didn't notice this morning. No gunk and I tried a little warm water in case it was gunked up but nothing.

If this has happened overnight, apply a warm compress to the eye to help loosen it up. See if you can get the eye open and flush it out with saline. She may have gotten some debris in it or a scratch. Apply an ointment in the eye like Terramycin or Original Neosporin.

Thank you. I will try all of this first thing in the morning. I have Neosporin, I'll have to see if I have saline. Not a common item in our house. Everyone is quietly sleeping in the same room as my 8 month old so I'll leave it be for the night.

Please, move the chicks out of your child's room. They shed lots of feather dust and create more dust scratching and running around in their brooder/bedding, which will be harmful for an infant's airways.

To keep the chicks in the house while at the same time preventing the family's airways from harm, keep them in a separate unused room like a guest room or laundry room and air the room at least twice a day.

I don't have another location for them, they are in my bedroom not my son's. That is just where he sleeps periodically and windows are open all day until temperatures drop at night.

He is partially opening it today, I can see it's an inner lid. It's been flushed, and Neosporin lightly applied. I will continuously check throughout the day and flush/reapply as needed.
