Eye pecked -- Can he live a normal life?

One of my new Barnevelder roos got his eye pecked and is now blind in that eye.

I've had this happen with another bird and because he kept twisting his neck up to see, he never got any food and I had to put him down. This bird does something similar, but seems to want to eat.

Thoughts? Comments?

Give him a chance, I have heard of chickens surviving with one eye.

I had a completely blind chicken that lived fine, until it accidentally wondered out on the road and was hit by a car

He might just need a bit of help adapting and learning how to find his way to food and stuff, but be patient and I'm sure he'll be fine!

I agree! I have one chicken that went blind in one eye due to an infection and she does absolutely fine!
