Here is my 8 week old americana - Google. She has swollen tissue around both eyes.

Sorry for the lame photos. Her eyes just look red rimmed, like a person who has allergies.

We noticed this when she was a few days old. I thought perhaps it was related to a respiratory issue, so I kept her & her brooder mates isolated & put them on a full course of antibiotics. Not only did she not get better, she actually never showed any symptoms of respiratory issues. Neither did her flock mates. Sooooooo... I decided to try antibiotic eye ointment ($13 at TSC - ouch). THAT did not clear up what appears to be swollen eye tissue.
Other than her "googley" eyes, she seems very healthy & is a super-friendly kiddo.
Any thoughts? Could her problem be genetic or did I miss something?

We have the same with our Golden Comet. Just one eye is swollen but with no discharge. An eye doctor on this forum suggested any human over the counter anti-biotic cream. He advised swabbing the eye three times a day. It seems to be working. Good luck.

That was my thought, too. She did a week on anti-bacterial eye ointment with no improvement. She is such a lively sweet-natured creature, I just hate to think I haven't done everything possible.
