Ok so one of my welsummer hens has an eye that is sealed shut. Well not quite sealed but almost like the lids get glued together over the course of the day. She is very active and not lethargic at all. My girls had a slight cold about a week ago and you guys told me to give them vitamins in their water and put some Rx on the nostrils and one drop in their mouth. Which this is what I did and the all look great now. I dont know if the eye has anything to do with the cold they had. If I manually open her eye it acts kind of lazy for a minute and then it stays open like normal for about 30 minutes and then it will gradually fall closed again, Let me know what to do please. Feed store closes at 12 noon.

You can try Terramycin Eye ointmant if you think it is an infection.
It is spendy, but will last a loooong time.

Or wipe the eye several times a day with warm saline water.

If you use the opintment, wipe the eye before applying.

Thanks my wife started warm conpresses to loosen the eye lids and had special eye drops she is doing better as of now. also gave her a little sugar water just for good measures..lol:D
