I have a columbian wyandotte bantam that was sickly. Her eye was watery, pinkish, and she seemed less active than the rest. I separated her, and treated her with Tylan 50. I gave her a 1/2cc per day for 9 days. She has improved a LOT. Her eye is no longer pinkish looking, and she is acting normal. However, her eye still looks watery. I stopped the antibiotics because I was afraid to over medicate. And she has continued to hold steady and is not improving, but not getting any worse either. Should I give another round of Tylan? I started her on some electrolytes in her water. I'm just not sure where to go from here. She's still in quarantine.

Suggestions?

Most respiratory deseases in chickens are viral, so antibiotics will not cure them, they only prevent or treat secondary bacterial infection. If you keep birds with one of these diseases, you should keep a closed flock, meaning no live birds or hatching eggs should leave your property. See the chart at the bottom of this link.
