I tried opthslmic antibiotic ointment, no improvement, got BANIXX CHIX and started spraying on head last night. My juvenile Black Copper Maran hen just passed. I saw something similar in another hen, used ointment, hen recovered. I sm afraid whatever this is will continue to spread. Most of my large flock is unaffected. Help, advice greatly needed and appreciated.

Are there other symptoms? Coryza is a respiratory disease that can cause sinus infection with pus-filled eyes, cough or sneeze, rattly breathing, and a foul odor. That may be the problem if it is happening in more than one chicken. Sometimes a peck wound or a foreign body in the eye can cause a big infection. You need to try and clean the pus out of the eyes with squeezing, QTips and applying antibiotic ointment to the eyes twice a day. If pus remains the eye can be lost.

I don’t see any breathing issues, but I might be just not seeing them. I will try treating for Coryza as prevention for whole flock. Thanks for the info!
