Sparrow glared from her burrow, her teenage chicks milling around her. "Would you shut up!" She snapped at Duck, who was trying to imitate a hawk noise, but clearly failing.

Duck flinched fearfully, was she going to hit him? But she didnt, she went right back to glaring at Fern's burrow.

Duck left the burrow and walked over to Ferns. Surprised that his mother didnt scream at him, he ducked through the entrance. Inside Duck saw Feen sitting in the shadows with her new chicks milling around her. Frost's white feathers shown brightly in the faint sunlight filtering through the entrance.

Flipper watched her leave and squawking unnecessarily. He walked over to her nest and peered down at the olive colored egg, that might be mine, he thought with a jolt of nervousness.
