Ruby's egg came out quickly and she stood up, looking at it. She rolled it around and clucked to it by instinct. She settled back down on it and closed her eyes.

Daffy suddenly flew into the air and clucked loudly. She needed to lay. She tucked her feet to her body and flapped all the way over to Ruby's nesting area. She got back to her feet and waddled and ran the rest of the way. Her crest bobbed around on her head. She continued her loud egg call.

(I know, I was just having her cluck cause I think my birds might do that sometimes after they lay.)
