Ruby got startled again by both Clora and Raven so she squawked again. She tried to act cool. "Hey, Raven!" She said happily.

“Hi, Ruby” he said.

Fern rolled her eyes at Ruby. “Everything is fine here, Raven. “ she said. “I’ve laid two eggs, plus the blue egg. I’m almost ready to sit!”

Ruby just watched them. She didn't think that Raven would like her anyways but she would be fine with whoever. Then she started thinking about Daffy and hoping that she was all right.

“Hmmm…anything I should know about brooding?”

“Hmmm…anything I should know about brooding?”

"I guess just stay on them for as long as you can, only taking breaks at least a couple of times a day. If you do more than 2 breaks per day, then I would take shorter ones. Although I will be here to keep them warm so it doesn't really matter then." She replied. "Also, remember to turn them a lot throughout the day. And when they start hatching, I like to cluck to them to encourage them but you probably already knew."

Ruby just watched them. She didn't think that Raven would like her anyways but she would be fine with whoever. Then she started thinking about Daffy and hoping that she was all right.

Daffy stepped out of the burrow. She remembered how they were supposed to stay for safety reasons, but she wanted to do something that wasn’t sitting and sleeping. She stepped away from the burrow and decided that she would finally go look for some grubs.
