Daffy turned back around towards Fern. "Did you hear that, Fern? The rat is gone!" she said excitedly. She was accidently talking towards one of the walls instead of the other hen.

Sage grabbed a beak full of moss and stuffed in into the bite, soaking up the blood.

And the tunnel it came out of-” she spun around and pointed to it- “connects to a tunnel that I believe connects to your egg burrows. I may be wrong, but either way, it means that rat got to some eggs. Now, I just checked my burrow; my eggs are fine, thank the stars. But let’s check yours.”
