A while later, Splash felt and heard the egg hatching underneath her. She clucked a lot for the baby. "Coal! I think it's hatching!" She whispered.

Fang looked around. the sky was dark, but she could see everything just fine. Where was she? Suddenly she saw eight goslings run across her path. Stepping back as they crowded around her, Fang tilted her head. What was going on? Suddenly a fanged monster stepped out of the bushes. Clora, realized Fang. Clora scooped the gozlings into her jaws before snapping them shut, making a horrible crunching sound as Clora ate the goslings. Fang stumbled back, but Clora came and latched around Fang's throat .

Fangwoke up, seating. she was in someone's burrow.

"Can I see?", Coal asked

"Just for a little bit. I don't want to kill the baby somehow," Splash replied as an unexperienced mom. She lifted herself up and also looked at it. "It's blue like Sage said!" She dropped back down on it so that it could finish hatching.
