“Yes.” Said Eerie. “I’m gonna hatch it.”

Rain, who was lingering in the forest, raced alongside the chick, and pulled him into an abandoned tunnel that connected to the flock ones. Ferns and vines hid the entrance, which was too small for an adult chicken.

Duck cowered in the tunnel beside the stranger, he was trembling. He could hear his mother searching frantically for him outside.

“Yes.” Said Eerie. “I’m gonna hatch it.”

"Yay! How many eggs do you think you are going to add to the clutch?" She asked and sat down, getting comfortable in Eerie's burrow.

“Probably two more. Unless Toad really wants more.”

"That sounds like a good number. I wouldn't know anything about hatching though and probably never will."

Toad looked at both of them awkwardly as they turned to him. "Uh, yeah, maybe 15." He chuckled

Rain pulled him farther into the tunnel, taking the route that she used to get berries from a bush in camp undetected. (She’s a 3 month old loner)
She shoved Duck into camp without coming out of the burrow.

Duck's thoughts spun rapidly in his head. She's going to kill Jay's chicks! She's going to kill the flock! Duck shuddered violently, I have to tell someone!
