This is my third batch of chicks.

I hope the eye issue resolves. I will post about the new issue in a new thread.

I lost 5 chicks total from this shipment. 2 DOA, 1 very weak on arrival then two sick ones that eventually died.

I gave the closed eye chick more eye drops today.

Yes, both eyes were stuck shut tonight. They were OK this morning, though.

Sticky with goop tonight. Although yesterday I didn’t have to clean them, I put drops in on Saturday.

Can she eat/drink on her own - does she move around?
If the eyes are getting goopy, then try flushing them out several times a day. You can also put some eye ointment in the eyes like Terramycin or Vetericyn eye gel.

I put Terramycin in when her eyes are shut.


Another dead chick this morning. That’s 6/22 dead chicks. My 6 week live chick rate, before this was 24/24, or 100% alive. Sigh, this sucks. I probably have all roosters with this luck. Humph.

I'm guessing your previous chicks were raised in the tub with all identical conditions?

Most were in the tub, except
One batch in a watermelon box.
The last ones in the tub had a vertical infrared heater.
