I know I keep mentioning your bathtub...are you sure the floor of it is not too cold?Done. Also scrambled some eggs for them and smashed the crumbles a teeny bit smaller.
I don't think I making sense so I'll drop it.The heater is set unevenly, so there is a temperature gradient.
The chicks were sleeping partially out of the heater, so i raised the lowest side to make it higher. It was 76 here yesterday, maybe 55 at night.
You can tube feed her liquids. So this morning’s sick one died this morning, and the gray one is clearly affected by this.
She drank when i dipped her beak and pecked at some food, but is still very weak. I hope she miraculously recovers. I’m not sure how to get her to eat/drink more.

I got curious about this heater and found this description. It affirms OPs answer that a traditional thermometer won't work. Can you put a thermometer under your brooder plate and tell us what it says?
I understand that it's a heat plate, but a thermometer will still read the temp that the chicks "feel" when they get under it.
Thanks Cryss!I got curious about this heater and found this description. It affirms OPs answer that a traditional thermometer won't work.
"The Overhead Mount Sweeter Heater is safe, energy efficient, indestructible, and reliable. This is an infrared radiant heater, intended to heat the animal underneath. Unless measuring heat with a radiant heat gun, a thermometer will only measure the heat that is released from the animal. It's not a space heater and will not feel hot like one. Designed to be hung or suspended from a ceiling or bracket from above, approximately 6-20 inches over the animals to be warmed. There are no hot spots, develops a uniform heat pattern, and has a 3-year warranty. The surface temperature of the lens will range from a safe 160-180 degrees (F) and will not burn your animals. It is designed to warm the animal, not the environment and is fully adjustable to maintain the ideal comfort level for your animals. For additional safety measures, the Sweeter Heater has an internal snap action thermal control to insure heaters turns off automatically when heat is not allowed to escape."
