Eyeworm in 6 wk old chick

My chick's eyes are very swollen and today I noticed what I thought was some exudate but when I took it out it looks like it could be a worm. It's no more than 1/16 to 1/8 inch long and a slightly yellowy white. Does this sound like eyeworm and how do I treat it?

Can i use Ivermectin?

We live in Western Canada and don't really have cockroaches but is it true that earthworms can host eyeworms or is there more than one type?

My chick is now developing a white spot at the lower rim of the iris. Is it the worm mass? I put a couple of drops of Ivomec that you put on the skin last night. Will this help stop the eyeworm?
