She ducked her head low and backed away. "No, I get many dreams mixed up between wolves. I'm sorry" she said submissively.

Neith turned around and trotted away from the dens. Her body hung loosely on its supports, her dominant posture pale against the deep yearning for both the pack and a familiar lonliness. Her ears relaxed, half opened eyes surveying a shadowy forest inhabited by creatures of different species at the moment.

She sighed deeply, her mostly-missing leg having huge "phantom pains". Normally, it wouldn't bother her, but she had just revealed a huge secret, and was now doubting her decision. She limped to her den and ate a rabbit, then collapsed onto the ground. She knew no herbs would help this pain, no matter how hard the tried. She laid her head on her paw and rested.

Neith sank lower, the hairs of her white belly brushing the dirty snow. A tugg started in her heart and slowly made it's way to the base of her throat. A want, a want so great it was almost painful overcame her. What was it? "I am no longer alone," she murmered, "So long ago I had started in a place of hope that brought only despair."
The want was greater now, making its way to the cords that sounded her proudest song.
"Look at me now," whispered the pale wolf, false humor creeping into her voice, "Look at me now at the top of a pack!"
She was alone, she was alone again.
No, no, never again. A pack runs beside me on the hunt and at the borders. Wolves follow me and I follow those above me. Look at me now, Tempest, look at me, my pack of younger years.
A howl rose into the sky, alone and strong as the beta that sang it.
