Hello!
first time posting and new chicken mom. I have an F1 olive egger from meyer hatcherh. 8 weeks old. I am sooooo curious what her parent breeds are. Seems maybe a BCM as she has a lot of the same traits as my BCM... her name is Peggy And she is tiny And shy but I love her! Any ideas?

@Doupgardens - Your chick looks like a BCM from afar, yet has a partridge-ish feather pattern showing through her black feathers instead of the shiny green tint carried by pure birds. The lack of pea comb and beard/muffs, the faded partridge pattern, her (so far) tiny size and her shy personality has me inch towards a BMC roo x Legbar hen cross.

I hope this helps ^^

Agreed!

Okay I just looked on Meyers website and it appears they have several strains of Olive Eggers I do not believe they all are specifically F1. If they were F1, I would guess Legbar and Marans, but it sounds like it's not so cut and dry. In that case, all I can say is that I think it has some Marans in there

"Meyer Hatchery uses a variety of parent breeds to create several strains of Olive Eggers. Our F1 generation hybrids do typically lay an olive colored egg, however, the olive can be in various shades and the potential does exist to lay eggs of different colors such as tinted, brown, etc." This seems to imply that not all are F1
