Random question concerning Olive Eggers: Does the parents position matter? (Eggsample: BE rooster x CE hen or CE rooster x BE hen.)

Random question concerning Olive Eggers: Does the parents position matter? (Eggsample: BE rooster x CE hen or CE rooster x BE hen.)

I have no idea is why i started my own but i used a black am over maran then bred the f1 to an f1 and the maran to a f1 rooster i dont have a maran rooster to test it i heard with olive eggers most use a maran rooster over blue egg gene as suppose to make egg darker i want to compare egg colors from the f2s and bc1 to the f1 egg

Ok. I have a Whiting True Blue cockerel and four Maran hens. I was thinking of breeding them next year, but not sure.

Oh, speaking of that rooster, do you know anything about line breeding? I got a Whiting True Blue trio, and I'm wondering how to breed them, and in a way I can keep a lineage going without problems.

Ive done it with these f1 olive eggers and my wyandottes never had any issues its more common then one would think

I start with a recycle bin then eventually they get moved to the fence like this View attachment 3165712this is my back cross one pullet this fence makes for nice pics lol
