Hmmm...if I did that cross, I don't think I'd wind up with anything that was totally brown. These are F2 because I bred my black star cock(F1) back to some RIR hens. I'm trying to keep the barred, brown chicks, selectively breed them with each other and then I'll start to see some better Rhodebar type birds.(I HOPE!) I'm pretty sure the one pictured in front IS a pullet and, hopefully, the first of MANY! Thanks for all your help 

Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
