6 month old buff brahma. Same weight and size as all of her sister. Abscess was first noticed on January 7. No other symptoms or unusual behavior; eating and drinking normally. The only change in 4 days is the color. It is now completely grey. No other chickens have the same issue. The abscess does have a scan near the bottom. I suspect it started as a pecking wound. I have cleaned specifically with saline and put on a blue hen healer ointment. I would prefer to intervene as little as possible, but also do not want to be negligent.

Hi!

Your product doesn't have any antibacterial or antibiotic ingredients and is mostly a barrier so nothing gets into the wound.

It may be fine and provided that wound heals, it should be okay. If you see any sign of infection or if it feels warm to the touch, you may want to use a product that kills and heals, like Neosporin or other triple antibiotic ointment (without painkiller.)

Hopefully that goes away though. Let us know if it doesn't.
