Mine do it after I give them soggy tomatoes especially Tilly who insists on sticking her whole face into the tomato.

By the way; drinking water - if you wouldn’t drink it then change it.

Regarding water: I change it every morning. And on hot days, when the water gets quite warm, I add a chunk of ice to it to cool it down, and give them cool/cold water to cool down. I know on a hot day I don't want warm water.

I have a cooler I was going to trash because it leaks. I now fill it with ice with a wide shallow plastic bin under it to catch the water. It stays cold all day. I pour out the water when I get home and add a little clean to start it again because they poop everywhere! The Bin is also wide enough for all 4 to stand in to cool off (which is why they're pooping in it). But it works!
