Faces changing color

We are new to chickens, I just noted to day that my SLW and Black sex link hens faces are starting to get more red...anybody know why? We are not sure on their age but my guess would be about 8-10 weeks

It's a sign that they're maturing. Since they're only 8-10 weeks old, you've still got a while until they're ready to lay (another 10 weeks or more).
