If you're concerned about the temperatures fluctuating and getting too high, I would HIGHLY recommend a relatively cheap thermostat, like an Inkbird -- you plug one end into your heat lamp, and securely fasten the temperature probe under the lamp. If it gets too hot (you set the range you want), the lamp will kick off until it hits the lower limit you set, and then kick back on.
I have to reiterate that it's very important you secure the probe -- if it gets knocked out of place or falls out somehow, you can easily go right back to the overheating situation.
Amazon link to the one I use: (there are other models that can have different daytime/nighttime temps, and also ones with cooling options if you have a fan to hook up, etc. https://www.amazon.ca/Inkbird-Tempe...jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==
(Canadian link)
Very good quality; I've used them for many years for reliable temps. You can also double-check your temps with an inexpensive temp gun, etc, if you want to be sure.
