Fairy eggs

My Cornish hen played an unusual egg today. It was a fairy egg but when I cracked it open it was 2 blotches of blood! Should I be worried about it or does this just happen? It's bizarre!

That's pretty normal. Just a small piece of reproductive tract in there. Normal eggs can also have blood spots, but not generally this big

I'm fairly sure it's a blood clot, unless there is some tissue in there too. Yes, it's a little bit big but unless it keeps happening I would try not to stress on it. After all, there isn't much you could do right now anyway.

Hold old is she and how many 'good' eggs has she laid?

Hopefully it's a one off and not a sign of internal abnormality.
Pretty large blood spot/clot...probably what moved down the pipes to form the fairy egg.

Fairy, fart, wind, rooster eggs are usually from a tiny piece of tissue breaking loose from the reproductive tract, or an immature ova(yolk) and the body forms an egg around it. Color can be darker than 'normal' as the pigment coating released has to cover a much smaller area so is thicker. Can happen with any age layer, but more common with new or older layers.

She is not even a year old but starting laying when she was 6 months. She does not lay continually it is sporadic! She laid a triple and several double yolks for me. She hasn't laid in a couple days and then the fairy. I understand that her breed is not raised for eggs just meat and have a short lifespan. They also can't tolerate the cold weather so I have her in the basement. I started with with four; 2 roosters and 2 hen's. She is the last one due to a hawk, dog, and a hawk! I didn't have plans to kill her for meat just keep her as a pet. Just a little concerned for the blood clot.

Just a glitch then.
She looks pretty good, how are you keeping her healthy?
As you probably know meat birds are meany to be eaten at 8 weeks and often have serious health issues beyond that age.

I know . She eats her organic crumble but loves scratch grain! When she eats the scratch grain she has soft shell eggs! But she loves that! I don't give it to her though! And I give her some mealy worms! I let her out when it's above 50 and she runs around with my Rhode Island Reds. She's a good girl! I didn't know anything about Cornish when I got them ! I was curious how their meat would be but don't have the heart to kill them!
