I think that the woman must have a problem in her head.

Far too many white skinned people believe that a deep tan is either healthy or attractive, despite all of the expert advice about the dangers of natural and artificial UV light. A naturally dark skin is attractive and so is a light tan, but so too is a naturally white skin. Why do so many people want to be what they are not?

It's also odd that many dark skinned people want a white skin. Most people here, especially women, cover their faces when they go out into the sun to cross the road. People who have to be in the sun cover their heads and faces with big scarves. That's all very sensible but one of the best pharmacy sales here is skin whitener. Some women use a lot of it and look quite unpleasant with their pasty white skin that doesn't go with their other naturally darker features. Our body features are usually colour co-ordinated! The reason for the whitener is that to be dark skinned is to be a labourer - a class thing. I doubt whether the labourers give a tinkers cuss but ladies who work in offices, 'though paler anyway, can be paranoid about skin colour.

The ladies below haven't tampered with their skin colour. Why would ladies like these even think about skin whitening?
