Keeping the post alive. I have some young hens that are coming up on egg laying maturity and I have fake wooden eggs in with them. I noticed all of the eggs are being moved to one spot, so far 4 are together. I don't know which hen is doing it. I also just bought 4 new chicks, probably one week old now. If I figure out which one is broody, can I give her the chicks? I built a brooder enclosure so I can keep them separate from the rooster and other hens.
I think all my chickens are around 4 months, the rooster might be 5 months old. 3 hens are easter eggers and are really easy going and seem to be more intelligent, the other 2 hens are about a week or so older than the eggers and are more skittish than the eggers.
