FAKE EGGS ???????

Do you all put fake eggs in your nest boxes to get your hen to lay in them? I was going to buy some but I only need 3 not a dozen. Was woundering if I needed to do this and if so what else I could use beside a wooden or plastic egg.

Some use light bulbs and golf balls. I got two wooden eggs from the craft store... and it has been picked up a few times with the rest of the eggs by my little brother.

I put old golf balls and plastic easter eggs- they move them all around. I have one hen that is broody so even when I take all of the eggs she still has something to sit on.

I have used golf balls before. I was thinking of using plastic easter egg. Do you use colored easter eggs or do you paint them??

I use an egglike rock that I happened to find in the horse paddock. Very realistic, and works very well.
