I have another pip! Is there such thing as a blue partridge? My chick now that it's dry is definitely blue with black chipmunk stripes, not brown & black...I know their skin is blue but this ones feathers are no doubt solid blue & black.

Is that a necked neck, it is cute. I have one baby I helped and two that were pipped when I came home an hour ago, it is now zipped half way and going strong.

Will get pic's when # 1 drys alittle.
Sort of, it's a showgirl which is a silkie that has a naked neck. That's great you have a chick now! It's hard seeing others with them when yours are still in the shell, it's a good thing you knew to help the lil one out...I think I'm going to have to help 2 of mine out but I'm going to give them a little more time first. I'm not to surprised since they were due the 1st & are just now hatching due to low temps in my bator. Please post those pics when they dry off!!
Well one of my 3 eggs left died in the shell (it was a blue with a tiny bit of yellow silkie) with a tiny amount of it's yolk sack unabsorbed, like maybe the size of a small grape, so that's too bad. It never internally pipped & it's head was facing the wrong way so I'm pretty sure it suffocated in the shell where it couldn't reach the air cell to pip...but on the bright side the other 2 eggs that are left are alive & have externally pipped! They still have some veins in their membrane so their not quite ready to come out but I plan on watching them very closely so I can help if I need to so I'm really hoping they end up making it. That will be 3 out of 4 put in lockdown so 3 chicks out of 6 eggs, not to bad for shipped eggs! Now I'd like to see the other 2 come out as showgirls
My 2nd chick hatched & it's also a blue partridge showgirl, woohoo!!! One more to go & it's hard to say whether it's going to be feather necked or not, so far 2 showgirls & 1 silkie...I hope everyone else's chicks are doing well too & I'll post pics once dry
