yeah, a yearling who walked within 10' of me. Wear gloves back in '05 - '09 because of the TB issues. Till I checked the lungs, I wore gloves.

Ehh, I'm just messin' with ya.

No problemo! We've had a few disease warnings in the last decade, and this pup only dressed out about 120lbs. Darn near carried 'em out over my shoulder.

Heck, around here we'd be shocked to get a 120lb deer! We have itty bitty black tails here, gotta drive clear across the state to find muleys....but hopefully one of us will have an elk hanging in about a month!

It's fun when you skin deer.

That a whitetail?

Always good to wear the gloves anyway. I nicked myself a few years ago and got a nasty infection in my hand. Plus, easy clean up!

Yeah, but they sure are gooooood eating!

I generally will only take a smaller one, if it's end of season and I still have an empty freezer.

Boyd, you're looking much healthier, hope you're doing well! (cute baby too)

Hey Boyd, my brother spent the night in the hospital getting observed and I.V. antibotics because he turned down some gloves my hubby offered him.
Nasty infection on his trigger finger, now he is always calling, bring a couple pairs of those gloves.

I either keep those disposables in my pack, or I have a pair of those heavy duty rubber dish gloves for butchering. I just wash them off, and dunk them in a bleach water solution when done and hang them to dry. I replace those every year but they last quite a bit and I don't worry about being poked or nicked as much as those disposables.

Here is some pics of where I was archery hunting for elk. I didn't get anything on this trip, but I will be returning at the end of Nov. for a black powder hunt.

I almost got a 5 point bull elk with my Mazda 3. Way home from school Monday night. He stood on the side of the road for a good 45 seconds, got to see him in his full glory. Come to think of it he would have probably killed my Mazda instead of the other way around.
