Here are a few of mine. I didn't get the bear hunting. He killed over 200 chickens at my neighbors farm so I took her out for them. The best part of all of this is it is my back yard. The scenery is the greatest and my wife is the best hunting buddy I could ever wish for!

yeah, a yearling who walked within 10' of me. Wear gloves back in '05 - '09 because of the TB issues. Till I checked the lungs, I wore gloves.
Always good to wear the gloves anyway. I nicked myself a few years ago and got a nasty infection in my hand. Plus, easy clean up!
You know what's funny about that....several years ago (maybe 7 or 8) my DH sliced his finger open (forgot he was using a brand new knife - duh!) while skinning a deer, he duct taped it up and kept at it, because between him and his buddy they had 2 to deal with. Later when I finally took him to the hospital, the doctor was happy that he did it skinning a deer - he said it's one of the cleanest places your hands can be! (It took 13 stitches to put his finger back together.)
When you got the infection, was it a gut-shot animal, or were the intestines broken during cleaning, by chance?
