Fall Quilt Block Swap due October 15th

I bought my fabric today! Very excited to be quilting again. Couldn't decide which two I liked best, so I got all 4. I'm going to make up one block of each pair and then decide whether I make all 16 the same or do some of both.
Fabric math ............................................................................................. the original "chicken math" lol

Oh my, that is extremely generous of you to make extra sets!!!! As far as I am concerned if someone is generous and ambitious enough to make extra sets they should choose how they want to share them.
Hi, Kassaundra, I'm not making extra sets, the extra sets are coming from the left over blocks, we have 16 people sign up, only 14 people actually send me their blocks, but you have sent in 16 blocks each so that would leave me sending you back 2 of your extra blocks 16-14=2, you take everyones extra 2 blocks and you put them into 2 piles of 14, that is where you are getting the 2 extra sets, then I take the 14 names of the people and randomly pick two names out of the basket, those two lucky people then would get an extra set. I would post the names of the two lucky people and they would have to confirm that they have actually received the extra blocks, that way no one can say I am keeping an extra set. I was just trying to find a way that someone would get lucky and get a bigger quilt.

I was quite disappointed when our Walmart made the fabric dept smaller and added a button instead of a worker that knows what they're doing. I waited 15 minutes for the scanner sticker for 1 yard of fabric, the young lady was trying to figure out why the printer wasn't working. Someone else finally came over and plugged it up but by then I took the 'lazy way' and chose a jelly roll. After comparing prices waiting for the employee is the trade off for better prices per yard! I compared the prices of pre-cuts with catalogs when I got home and Connecting Threads has good deals. May be ordering rather than frustration in Walmart...
I actually got lucky the other day when I bought some fabric at Walmart, the girl didn't know how to run the printer or cut fabric, the guy that came over to help her new how to print the tickets. I wanted 1.5 yards each of 3 different fabrics the guy couldn't figure out how to do that so he told the girl he was just charging me for one yard each, well she didn't know how to cut 1 1/2 yards so she gave me 2 yards each of the 3 fabrics. Fun times at Walmart, not

Great for you but yikes, scarey that basic math is beyond them.

Babies are so great. Give her a kiss from me. And don't forget to spoil them. hehehe

Just popping in for a minute. Looks like everyone is busy with plans for the next swap. Sorry I'll miss this one. Just wanted to let everyone know my first great granddaughter was born day before yesterday. Madison Olivia weighed 7lb 2 oz and is 19' long. Both Mom and baby are fine. This makes my daughter (paulsmuffin) a grandma. Will see both next week as our first trip starts on Wed. Here is a photo of Madison with grandma (paulsmuffen) and her Aunt Ashley

Connecting Threads carry better fabric then Walmart. I ordered a lot of fabric from CT and Loved it.

QUESTION, are we using different fabric in blue for the small Quarter Squares, as the pattern calls, and different blue for the flying G? Or does it not matter. Thanks

It was my understanding as long as it was blue and yellow it was quilters choice how they put the colors together.

Yes, as long as you meet the color requirements you are the artist.

We will not be doing the extra set option, it was just a suggestion so you send 16 blocks you get 16 blocks
