Fall Quilt Block Swap due October 15th

Finally got the SASE in the mail to you, katsdar, today. Sorry for the delay. It's coming first class so guessing you'll get it Monday. Maybe Saturday if we're lucky.

Hello Ladies,
@ginbart I do have your blocks and I am waiting on to see if one set is on its way to me other wise it is sorting time and shipping time.

@elsiebb Np on the SASE thanks for taking care of it.
@cathiesue don't worry I'll figure it out and let you know how many when I sort. Things happen and if this is the worst we are doing wonderful !!!!
@Kassaundra you are so right the phones fault.
@fenrosie/majack you ladies are getting lots of rain? well that is according to our weather man. I do believe we are in for a very long and cold winter this year

Now for my latest news 15 of the 17 eggs hatched and I am recovering from a lock in at our Church, the kids had a ball, course so did I, we made smores and had a nice evening outside not too cold and then with all of the activities inside the last child crashed at 2:30 this morning then up for breakfast and off to the local farm to milk the cow!!! here is a pic of my latest hatch

Hi Katz,

We've had some rain but we've had a few good days too. It's been remarkably warm for the time of year. I've still been picking tomatoes grown outside, yet the clocks go back tonight. They are not as sweet as they have been so maybe chutney is on its way! Today I found masses of Glistening Ink Cap mushrooms growing where an old hawthorn tree was taken out.

The bad weather is due from now. They are threatening damaging gales but we're hoping this is just the weathermen going overboard.

Where will you keep them over the winter, if you have a winter. lol I'm not sure where your at.

The chicks are inside until they get big enough to go into the brooder box which will be when they are feathered out and the brooder box is big and is heated if needed and on the back porch so they will be comfy for the winter. I don't know how I ended up with one looking like a ground squirrel. I live about an hour north of Atlanta, GA

My family and I aren't much into eating mushrooms but kids and I love to look for them and find out what they are. One that has baffled us yet is so beautiful looks like a rose. It may not be an actual mushroom but it has to be a fungi of some sort. Anyone know?

I think this is a very young type of earthstar puffball. I found it in my British mushrooms and toadstools, then looked it up in Wikipedia and am pretty sure it is. It looks as if it could be similar to the Asian one which is compared to the US one , but very immature. The UK one is very rare and is bigger and browny. It grows in leaf litter under beech on chalky soils.

I love doing this kind of investigation but then I was a microbiologist and that includes fungi. Can't pretend mushrooms and toadstools are micro though:D.
