Fall Quilt Block Swap due October 15th

Well it will definitely be between those two already voted on.

To help me decide, what will the other color be? Blue and white? Blue and tan? or whatever color I want to put with blue?

It seems to me that white would make it not so much a "fall" block. I really like the solitaire block but I don't think I could do a plaid fabric. I also really like the Love in a Mist, probably because it looks a little bit like a Carpenter's Wheel block which I have wanted for years and years to do but I think I would really prefer to do a real Carpenter's Wheel some day.

So, are there other colors being called for?

I was thinking any color you wanted to put with the main color blue. I saw some dark blue fabric with gold specks in it that was really pretty so I was thinking something to contrast with that. Course what is available when I go back to the store maybe a different story and something else may catch my eye.

How about this: We could have several blues for the 'check' parts of the pattern, say one for the points of the star on the outer pieces and another one or two for the 'hourglass' check shapes. Then the buff shapes could be what has inspired you with blue. Rosie's picture of Love in a Mist has the pale blue of the flower shown up beautifully by mid and dark green, Katsdars inspiration is the gold in the blue fabric she has seen so she could look for fabrics that complement this. Someone out in the desert might have a fantastic blue sky against rusty rocks. Am I making this too complicated? I think of the "Fall" in the title of this swap as being the time it has to be done by, not the colours. I would never use the checks like the instructions as they are very difficult to get not to look untidy. The thing that will unite our blocks, I hope, would be that all have blue in them and they all tell a story. We have time to mull this around between us before we decide.

I should be finished with the August swap this weekend. I love receiving blocks from all over and am holding on to them in order to make a queen or king size quilt. Would it be too much to ask if everyone could tack a piece of paper with their screen name and state or location on each block? I'd love to incorporate the info in my quilt.

this is exactly what I was thinking.

Sorry my mind is not here right now, I am having to put my son's dog down on Friday 10 am, Why Friday because my husband is off of work and he is going with me. Boots is 13 and the time has come. We have had Boots since he was 6 weeks old. My son ( he is in the Navy and stationed in Virginia ) wants him cremated and making arrangements for pickup and sending Urn info to my son, my son won't even look at the web page, he just wants to pay for the services and so I'm the go between and making sure both parties have all info is going to make me crazier than I already am, is that even possible

I will have to get back to you on that. I just want to say Boots I call him Boo or Boo Boo has been such a good loyal smart loving friend he has a face only a mother could love photogenic he really is not, his father was a chihuahua and his mother was a Lhasa Apso and I can say yes stairs had to be involved. So if you could just remember my son Kenny and Boots in your Prayers on Friday I would really appreciate it.

Nope not too much to ask , I like to know who's done what it makes it more personal and has even more special meaning. I have already started the green/white blocks while waiting on the last blocks to arrive.
