Fall Tailgate Sale Upstate Ny Canaan

Quote:
Last time there were LOTS of silkies from what I remember - by last time I mean October of last year, the April one this year rained the entire day so not many people selling.
I love this swap, so many different breeds, so many different animals!!! TOns of goats, some llamas, pigs, ducks, etc.

There will be lots of geese, ducks and chickens coming from an area farmer, pluse he is bringing show quality birds as well. I will try and get a list of some of the from him today. Hope the weather will hold out.

The email and phone lines are buzzin.....Lots of interest in the sale on sunday. There are people bringing chickens ducks geese pigs lots of cages, we also have a farmer bringing fresh produce There are different types of pheasants coming including peacock pheasants! We are happy that the weather is going to be good..the boys are looking forward to seeing all the different birds and animals that will be there. Hope you can make it. Woody

Shopping List

We're about to be new chicken owners and we're looking to buy at the tailgate/meet the following:

2 Black Australops (hens)
2 Barred Plymouth - one hen, one rooster
2 Speckled Sussex (hens)
2 Buff Orps (hens)
2 Silver Laced Wyandotte (hens)

Will anyone be selling chicks of the above and will the chicks be vaccinated?

Also, what's the best way of transporting them home from the sale. Should I bring a container. We live about an hour and half away.

Thanks!
