Fallen deep into a funk....possible cervical cancer....UPDATE

Even with a cone, you should not have had severe pain. Some pain, sure, especially when you start, uh, you-know-what again, but it should be easily controlled with Percocets, and it should heal up in about a month. After a couple of months, it should only be annoyingly uncomfortable scar tissue left, no more pain. If there is pain, you should get painkillers from the doc! No question, that is a procedure that deserves at least Darvocets afterwards! And a few days lying around eating ice cream and take-out!

They can do laser instead of the LEEP, the LEEP is a little old-fashioned. LEEP tends to leave scar tissue that is unsuitable for repeat biopsies, which sounds like is going to be an issue for you. Freezing the dysplasia off is really a no-no, the resulting scar tissue makes it exceptionally difficult to see any additional precancerous cells. But the laser heals nicely. Except not every hospital has a laser, so...

Had the cold knife cone seven years ago that took out about 2/3 of my cervix and a little chunk of uterus too. After sleeping for about a day, I sat around, watched movies and ate sushi & ice cream for maybe a week. Pain was pretty well controlled, I only remember the first two periods being exceptionally weird-feeling, but the worst was attempting to, ahem, resume normal marital relations. That HURT for months. Oh boy did it ever hurt. It gets better with practice, but oh my, you really have to grit your teeth and stick with it. Close your eyes and think of Brad Pitt. Or get some, um, toys, you know, until the scar tissue stretches out a bit.

Honestly, if they are going to tie your tubes, why not do a hysterectomy? That'll take care of the problem for sure, and you don't have to worry so much about recurrences. Other types of cancers/dysplasias are at higher risk, but still, at least you'll have the most common cervical cancer out of the picture.

I've had the LEEP procedure...not a big deal, they knock you out and you wake up just fine. You'll bleed some, maybe have a little..cramping I guess you could call it...and (ok this is gross) stuff that looks a little like coffee grounds in the blood but you won't have any problems with it.

Wish I could help, but I honestly don't know what to say other than that you have too many problems for one person to deal with. Someone needs to enumerate all your various options for you so that you can begin to make choices. I'm suspecting that without help you cannot consider what all your options might be.

First, I must say, I hope things get better for you.
As far as the cone bio, I had that done and experienced slight cramping for a day or so, but it was nothing major for me. I never had the LEEP, but have close relations that have. They said it was uncomfortable, but bearable. I guess it depends on the individual as far as the pain tolerance goes.
Myself, I ended up with a total hysterectomy in my early 30's.

When I had the cone biopsy several years ago, I had major cramping afterwards for a few weeks, it almost felt like labor pains....maybe I was a freak statistic.....but I sure don't want to go thru all that again!

I asked for a hysto when I had to have the first one done...glad I didn't cos I wouldn't have been able to have Hayden.

I'm considering asking for one again, I just worry about the hormone issues that come along with it....
I'm already on the edge, LOL!

I do have way too many issues for just one person, each day gets harder to deal with, especially when I hit so many roadblocks trying to get the help I need.
I've wasted the entire morning, going to an appointment that was canceled by the doctors office for other issues, then making phone calls trying to get another appointment or do a walk in, only to hit a dead end with that.....

I'm now waiting to find out when.....and IF they can get me in to do this LEEP. I got lucky getting in for the tubal, I imagine I wont be so lucky this time around(with the way everything else is going). Which will mean waiting up to 3 months to get anything at all done, going to the state hospital...it takes at least a month if not 2 just to get an appointment there.

They say the lord doesn't give us more than we can handle...I never question the man upstairs....I just wish he would show me the light at the end of this tunnel already!!

My daughter just had to have a hysterectomy, and has had the cone procedure done twice before I think, and while she had discomfort, she didn't have lasting pain . . . and this last surgeon she had was a total village idiot and she wouldn't let me come to see her or be there, because she knew I would come unglued when he answered MY questions, like he did hers (idiot is too kind of a word!) Anyway, if it keeps hurting like this, you might want to get a second opinion. I wanted my daughter too, and her younger sister made countless phone calls to ask questions about this guys procedure and bedside manner, so to speak, and of course no one would commit to a thing. She had a really rough time with the surgery afterwards, got a light infection in the wound, he got mad because she went to the emergency room instead of calling him . . .she DID call him, he was in surgery, and it had broken open and was leaking blood and fluid, so naturally you would go to the emergency room . . .gave her the dickens for that . . .what a joke!!! I went and got her and her two girls, and brought her home for 3 days and nursed her back to health. Don't let this go too long, because while its internal, you can't "see" what is going on . . .makes it more difficult to know what is normal and what isn't.

Had my last insurance covered appointment yesterday, for my tubal post op.

Got a few issues going on...Aunt Flo has now been with me since Hayden was born...thats 2 months now...

My doctor is now recommending that I get a partial Hysterectomy, leaving the ovaries so I don't have hormone issues.
However, I can no longer go to see him, thanks to the insurance mess.
His office is working with me to try and get me in to the state hospital in hopes that i can continue my care there. He thinks that they may start the whole thing over from the beginning tho

instead of just picking up where we left off and doing things fast.

I did manage to get an appointment at the state hospital for July 15th, so I will let ya'll know what happen there.....

All I can say is, eventually it will get better. You just have to hang in there long enough and ride the storm out.......

Wishing you all the best.....

Geeze, now I sound like a stupid Hallmark card!!!

I have u in my prayers....so much on your plate! *HUGS*

I've not had the cone, but I had the colposcopy when I was pregnant as well, and I thought the pain from that was HORENDOUS and that I was going into labor! Seeing as how u've been though that, how did u feel about it? MY second one while not pregnant I didnt think was near as bad...just like an uncomfortable pap. Anyway, I did have the leep about 3 mo after giving birth. I was nervous nd anxious, and now... I wonder why. I've had eye dr appts more uncomfortable than that. Literally your awake when the IV goes in, and after that ur drugs are through there and they knock you out and when it's all over you wake up from a short nap feeling groggy but fine. Literally had NO PAIN or discomfort what so ever. Everyday I kept thinking I would wake up hurting, but I never did. I have more pain with aunt flo every month. Seriously it's probably the easiest procedure comfort wise. And for me, it worked. Havent had an abnormal pap since. Good luck again dear!
