False brooding? Any idea?

Hello all.

I have problem with one of my chickens she's under false brooding

Yes i have no rooster but seems she wants to be a mama.
when i collect the eggs she don't want me to take the eggs underneath of her, and she hide it from me. she don't want to go out to eat or do anything just to stay in the chicken coop taking care of the eggs, this happened before with one of my other chickens.

Now i was thinking because of that. Can i go buy a little baby Chick and put it underneath of her pretending its hers? Do you think it will work? or she will kick it out? i don't want it to be hurt! and if she accept it will the others do too?

They will often accept a day old chick as theirs, especially if it is placed under them after dark so they have overnight to get familiar with it. There is no guarantee it will work, though.
