Hello! I'm new to BYC but I've raised chickens twice in the past. My family of 6 moved to a property with a few acres and are starting again with a new chicken flock. We've gotten baby chicks over the last several weeks and are working on getting them moved outside in the next couple of weeks.
We are going to raise both layers and meat chickens. Today we got a portable coop built and put the bigger chicks outside in the grass for the first time for a few hours. I look forward to learning more on BYC.

Welcome!

As you have already received links to some great starting points, I will just wish you all the best.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out
