Fan in barn

Hi I live in florida and it gets very hot here during the day. My hens arent laying very well and I was wondering if I put a fan in the barn would they lay more if it were cooler? Or would it not matter because its still hot in their run?

I live an hour north of Florida and run a box fan all summer. They move to cooler, shady, breezier areas in the heat of the day.
