Farm Apprenticeship

My husband and I would like to turn our small hobby farm into a viable career, so I have been looking into apprenticeships. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with apprenticing and/or if they knew of any opportunities in Vermont or Upstate NY. I am going to be out of work next year and I figure that this would be the time to do it.
