Our girls (7 Rhode Island reds) are 11 months old now and experiencing winter for the first time!
We’ve covered 3 sides of their run with tarp ( recommended by byc) and have. Egan usin straw for their soil run floor
Not sure about the straw if it needs changing weekly like the shavings in their coop?
The girls definitely didn’t like snow! They move as the sun moves sitting in the sun when they can, I’m not sure if they need ‘warm’ mash? It seems sad leaving them in their run when I’m inside warm and toasty!!! Hubby says I ‘humanise’ them too much![]()
