It's a test to see if the chick moves when you tap the egg shell gently with your finger while candling.

Uhh I was looking at my post here and this is what I saw:View attachment 2490546

whoah that's weird!

@human1 it was sad. He was disbudded as a kid but they were idiots and did a horrible job. His horns grew but one twisted and grew straight out hence the unicorn. The other twisted and grew back towards his skull. After a while it was gonna go into or at least against his skull so I was looking at getting it removed.
One day he escaped was was headed to the other side of the road cause the grass is apparently always greener there. He got hit by a truck and after 17 1/2 cartwheels and a poorly stuck landing he quickly returned to the gate. He only sustained a little road rash but it also cleanly removed his problem horn. Right at proper location and it hardly bled and healed quickly.
He then finished his life as a proper unicorn.

Is it always green on the top and pink on the bottom or does it vary?

It may change slightly, but it stays roughly the same with every bird.

Had to start my sea monkeys over again. They failed to grow, & the water kept getting a white film over the top of it. Trying them in bottled water this time.

this is the same egg

at the time that was the only one that looked like that. the other 4 looked more like

with much more obvious veining

Maybe bacterial infection. The coloration inside the egg says possible bacterial infection.

An eggtopsy will confirm it.
