I was going to hatch my own- but my silkie hen passed away.
It’s a big setback, since they take forever to start to lay, and she had just started laying at a year old.

Ok I understand, that's a bummer!

I had planned on breeding and selling silkies, but it’ll be a while (unless I can find a pullet that’s already laying) until I can start that again.

I’ve been looking, but now many people raise chickens near me. There’s a poultry trading thing that happens at my feed store, which is where I’ll likely find one, if I do.

You sound like me! I rehome chickens because I want to keep a smaller flock and then I keep a bunch of chicks that I hatch even when I say I'm not going to keep any. LOL It's a problem.
